Support LL & MM

Dear Hayden Families,

At Tuesday night’s board meeting, the Hayden School Board voted to support Propositions LL and MM — two statewide measures that help keep Colorado’s Healthy Meals for All Program going strong.

These propositions ensure that every student continues to receive healthy, nutritious meals at no cost, while also supporting local food sourcing, kitchen improvements, and training for our food service staff.

Why it matters:

🍎 Well-fed students learn better, focus longer, and feel supported.

🥕 These measures help our schools keep serving fresh, local foods.

💪 They ensure no child worries about going hungry during the school day.

In simple terms:

  • Proposition LL lets the state keep already-collected funds ($12.4 million) to continue paying for free school meals.

  • Proposition MM makes the program sustainable long-term by adding permanent funding from a small tax change that affects only the highest-income earners.

The board’s support reflects our belief that no child should learn on an empty stomach and that Hayden students deserve the best start every day.
